Yeah...I watched an episode last night on the TEEV.....about the "self help' movement.
I loved it....cos it agreed with everything I believe....*cheeky grin*... about the scam...or should I say...the ideology formed by the 'needy'........that people can go get 'fixed' by attending semiar's..and reading the self help book...
DOn't they realise that its - BULLSHIT!
that going to countless lectures...or programs.....year after year........is costing them money...and not delivering the 'promises' of a quick fix.
Books......shit! Everyone who has had some kind of problem will write one......and what good is reading .......when what the individual needs to do is ...act - and actually do something other than sit on their arse and read a fucking book...
great cop out!
besides....which one are you going to choose to devote your whole life to...........yeah I recon its a bit like sitting in chruch...all you get is a numb bum.

In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.
