I watched this video and thought...okay so far so good, the film makers are using rather emotive terms to describe something that quite often happens in kindergarten/pre school... ie. learning by route your times tables etc....... but lets see what happens....I don't like the idea of using kids to work (fullstop) I see "evangelicals" traipsing around Brisbane with their kids, door knocking so its not just Baptist Westborough who use their kids to 'sell' their message.
anyway...
When it got to the end of the clip....and more biblical advice is given to the kids of these kinds of 'churches'. by the film makers.....I thought Fucking hell....! 'Go on! shove more shit down their throats why don't you.' This is only more 'child abuse'! Its Replacing one version of biblical dogma with another. - big deal! ...but the end result is the same. The kids head is filled with biblical dogma and at the same time...taught to 'hate' their parents.? (which children find very threatening).
The film makers exploited the kids in exactly the same manner as the Westborough gang...they used those kids to sell their message....and I'm sure were feeling very self righteous about it all. (arseholes)
Wouldn't the ideal situation be to leave kids alone - and let them play and grow up without any kind of biblical teaching. But no......"you've got to 'train' the next generation to be like you" . "and if you can't be bothered doing it yourself"...."let your kids loose at the local SUnday School and see what happens" ? Pardon me ..but I've been personally effected by this kind of shit. & thank goodness I was a piss poor student & refused to pay attention............parents who church hop or change over from one denomination to a completely different stream don't often consider their kids. Or do they?
thanks mothy for the clip...I've used to for a totally different angle

In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.
