The book I suggest is copyright 1994 but it's called Captive Hearts, Captive Minds : Freedom and Recovery from Cults and Other Abusive Relationships by Madeleine Landau Tobias, Janja Lalich, and Michael Langone. I was fortunate in that I worked briefly (though many years after I left the church) with one of the authors of the book which is how I heard of it.

The link above will take you to amazon and from there you can look inside the book and read the table of contents to see if it's something you might be interested in reading. I know some of us may not be big into self help books--I know I am not--there is just something in my nature from being an ex-fundi that says I don't need self-helps, but as far as self helps go, this one is not too bad, in my opinion. Also, for those who are struggling in the midst of getting out of any cult or cult-like experience, immersion in a book can't hurt.
