Banned women reading illegal material. Makes me appreciate my freedom VERY much. Islamic fundamentalists remind me very much of fundamental christians, which has brought things back for me personally in my dealing with the male-dominated authoritarian religion - but I think it is helpful.... -------------------------------------------------------------- I don't believe in the sorcerers or the preachers. What those girls went through just to read Jane Austen and Henry James, writers most of us take for granted (especially those of us former English majors). With a few minor changes, there isn't alot of difference between male dominated xtianianity and male dominated islam.. both base their ability to have favor from their god by their absolute domination and supression/oppression/repression of women. I guess this is supposed to show how great their faith and strength is or to make up for all their violent behavior. One great read!
