Hi,This is my first post here--and it looks like an interesting place to air experiences and opinions about Christianity.I've been a Christian for a long time, but I just have to say it: I'mcompletelyfed up with the current state of Christianity. In short, here's a few reasons:A faith that has been hijacked by an undereducated, limiting world viewAn endlessly boring, mechanical approach to Christian "growth" ie. mind-numbing Bible coursesA vertically-structured "church" that induces followers to comform to the views "on top"We as Christians are being limited by the knowledge and experience of our "leaders".Our "modern" performance-oriented church has no working concept of God's graceA paternalistic church structure that fosters infantilism amongst believers, and ultimately: spiritual retardationChurches that focus more on service (to the church of course) than a relationship with GodThose outside, looking in on "The Church" see a very strange place--is it any wonder?A lack of flexibility to embrace different spiritual convictions, which are honestly present in all.Few opportunities to minister outside those prescribed by church leaders. The authority of "church" and its leadership ceases to exist if they are contrary to the nature of God.Add to the list as you feel inclined...I think it's very cool that so many people see problems with the current state of Christianity--there may be hope after all.Ah...that felt good to get off my chest!
