Welcome aboard. If you give your honest thoughts on matters of fundamentalism, and not what others have told you to think, you'll fit right in.

-Dennis Diderot, father of the Encyclopaedia, in Dithyrambe Sur La Fête Des Rois
If I had the choice of first existing in an afterlife, and second of where I would go, I would prefer to exist, but I would prefer to go where there is not to be found any king, any pope, any priest, pastor, bishop, reverend, deacon, rabbi, nun, televangelist, sooth-sayer, bible-thumper, fundamentalist, extremist, zionist, nor any member of any religion, denomination, sect, or church whatsoever. Call it what you will. This, to me, is heaven.

We have some believers here, though we do tend to chase them off. Please stick around. We need the balance.
And welcome!

There's a very eclectic bunch of people here, some of whom, like me, have no idea what's going on.
Welcome. I'm sure you'll fit right in.

I find that the views of the Gods in Paganism were more like mine, and so I adopted it as my new faith. I have been a believing Pagan theist for the past five years, and have no intention of giving up (or debating) my current beliefs.
Hiya and welcome Love your screen name.
I agree with you 100% - nobodies business what you believe or don't believe. I personally don't like labels so I'm happy to let other's call me anything they like.
Look forward to your posts out in the other sections, it sounds like you and I have a lot in common.

In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.

Open up to being challenged young pagan.
I became a fundie at age 13 after being an atheist for two years. I was almost constantly abused in junior high and feel now that I mainly "became" an atheist because (a) my parents were attending a UU church which made a lot of fun of conservative Christianity and (b) those abusing me were largely Christian. I read a Christian tract.I was an odd duck as a fundie, too. Being a kid in my parents' house, where no one but me was Christian, I didn't really have a fundie community backing up what I did. I got most of my "fellowship" from books from the library, a conservative boyfriend my junior year in high school, and the local ELCA church. I also never gave up my liberal political and social beliefs, which scandalized my fundie brethren once I made it to college, let me tell you. After thirteen years as a fu
