Hi Snakey and the gang! I thought I'd put my intro and story into this room at some stage, but looking through it now I don't think I have. Anyway, I wanted to plug the blog I'd put together from posts I'd dribbled through at the 'other' Aimoo. I'm a long time reader of Walkaway but haven'tchecked infor a couple of months. Anyway, here's my ranting space if anyone wants to see what my brain looks like after leaving a fundy church after 17 years or loyal service - The Aint-Christ (see the word play.. see it? see it? sigh, if it has to be explained then it isn't witty).aintchristian.blogspot.com

In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.
