My first post was more conceptual than personal, so here goes with a proper intro:Raised rather strictly by CatholicsLeft as a teen, explored self-styled meditation/"new age"Joined a ultra-fundamentalist Plymouth Brethren church (ooh, a little overreaction perhaps?)IthoughtI left fundamentalism 10 years ago, but I'm seeing it creep into every church I get involved in.So now I'm beginning to suspect that current Christianity has lost its way, and has little to offer me. I still belive in God, but only a god who cares about truth, kindness, relevance, and open attitudes about life. So I've chosen to take a path meaningful tome, rather than the spoon-fed lifestyle of "the church".

Where is Fearless Leader?

I think you've chosen a good path, but that's just me.  Freethought is the most healthy way of exploring religion, in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing.

Peace.

Welcome. I must say I pretty agree with everything you have to say about the current state of the church.

Thanks Waynus. I hope ideas can be freely explored on this board--best wishes and goodbye.
