anyone find Bindie's performance on your television screen creepy? She's flooding her sweetness onto your breakfast viewing. The kid is a robot - a clone of her idiot father.http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,21058906-5001021,00.htmlI am so sick and tired of hearing about that bloke.....& his kid............he was a zoo keeper for fucksake!Well what do 'you' expect in this day and age - the cult of personality being so strong - celebrity gobbled up by the common folk with someinsatiable hunger that aludes me.what for?are the lives of 'ordinary' people so boring that they must get their 'hit' on every media outlet.Yep..maybe.....so why not film yourself doing something idiotic and post it on YOutubeLook at meLook at meLook at meLook at me(can't wait for the stingray video reconstruction of Steve Ewins death.........kidding)Is this the 'look at me' generation - so self absorbed it doesn't give a rat arse about 'wordly' things such as war .......the returning inequalities of race and gender...Oh fuck I'm feeling old.....really old & cynicaltyay for the the grumpy old woman

In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.

The cult of personality is used to keep the public in la-la land just so that they won't think about and question things like war, inequality, injustice, loss of civil liberties, etc.

I like The Cynic's Sanctuary. It's a good antidote to the empty headed yeahawism in the United States.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Zombies, Unicorns, Devils, Sea Monsters, Satyrs, Dragons, Six Winged Angels, Gods, Demons, Witches, Astrologers, A walking & talking snake, Magical fruit, Talking donkeys, human headed six-winged beasts, Ghosts. All that stuff is in the Bible and yet they tell me it"s not mythology?

Irwin was a curious character - there were plenty of Aussies who loved him, but equal number of those who viewed him as fake and over the top.  I thought he was a big put-on, but by all accounts that is exactly how he acts - before and after the TV show, in front of the camera and behind the camera 24x7.  Just a ball of enthusiastic energy passionately focused on 1 thing - promoting conservation.

Seems he's done a reasonable job of it too.

I found Bindy's speech came across as fake and over the top also...but once again we're told she wrote it all word for word and read it as she wanted to.

So maybe this family is just a little different.  Not my cup of tea at all - I think I've seen 1/2 of 1 episode - but loved across the world by millions.  I prefer the more gentile and dulcit-toned David Attenborough personally...
