I found this subsidiary of the Focus on the Family website atpluggedinonline. You can while away hours of happy reading finding out what the fundies think of what you watch and see. No DVD/Video/Film escapes criticism even for scenes of people drinking alcohol and smoking. Then that's my life censored then. There is no star system to distinguish the extremely violent from the slightly violent i.e. one slap around the facesoyoung fundiesare left feeling that there is nothing to watch.

Fuckards.....damn right nothing left to watch..... I'm pissed off because of the way the website describes BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN...

quotes...linked

When two people love each other, they love each other. And people should hold on to it as hard as they can, whether it's homosexual or heterosexual," star Jake Gyllenhaal told reporters at the Toronto Film Festival. He's partly right. But if he's talking about the kind of love shared onscreen by Jack and Ennis, he's conflating the meanings of the words love and lust. The Bible doesn't isolate "love" to male-female relationships. It calls men to love other men, and women to love other women. (Look at the connection David had with Jonathan in 1 Samuel 19-20 and the bond Jesus had with John in John 13 for a biblical reference point. Also relevant are 1 Peter 1, 1 John 2 and John 15.) What it condemns is turning brotherly or sisterly love into sexual love?a form of love God reserves for a man and woman who have embraced the gentle bonds of marriage. That sexualization of love?and our growing cultural acceptance of it?is gradually making valid, chaste love between two men or two women harder and harder to accomplish. (Read 1 Corinthians 6, Romans 1, John 1, 2 Peter 2-3 and Leviticus 18-20.)

For its part in this larger spiritual issue of relationships, Brokeback Mountain takes the love Jack and Ennis share and triumphantly turns it into lust. As Gyllenhaal said, "They're two men having sex. There's nothing hidden there." Then it blames human intolerance for the inevitable fall-out.

How unintellectual!

In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.

Skinflick.

Your reaction by cursing is typical of your inner nature.  The crap can't help coming out.

The Brokenback mountain review http://www.pluggedinonline.com/movies/movies/a0002455.cfm was an excellent observation of the film's attempt to be normalize sodomy as an expression love.  As you quoted, I agree the writer did not need to refer to any Holy Book as a last resort  for confirmation and answers.  The Fundies do this because they doubt themselves to be arbitors of wisdom from within.  They think it comes from outside themselves. So they don't really trust their own conscience.  They like a template rather than respond to every moment rationally.  They don't  trust something from the core of their very being to be worthy.   It is this lack of confidence that makes them huddle into groups headed by wolves in sheeps clothing, thus they do right things in wrong ways.

While this discussion board  "Walk away from Fundametalism" shrugs off the excesses of God Regulation that opposes humanity,  your cry-baby attachment to other people to feel good about yourself leads you to want approval in a film.  Abuse of mouth and loins do not need glorifying.  Just pity.

Of course there were female titties exposed in this film!

While the socially-moulded heteropiggies are suckered into voyerism the socially-moulded homospiggies indulge freely into their trough.  "Love Actually" is the best film I've seen to exploit sexual feel-good desires as it hits on every sexual fantasy preferment from paedophillia to group sex.   "Lust Actually".

With no God you think you're God - that makes you malleable.   You're outwardly formed rather than inwardly formed.  Just as suggestible as a God Worshiper with Deity Association pretences.  Denying reality by getting more and more into their pycho-culture.  Only god's can curse, so keep on practicing with your friends.

I don't think this was the original idea of this discussion board - one for the self obssessed rather than the self observant.

Typical reaction of the ego,

You behave as a Fundi, with shallow understanding , but can't see it.  Devoid of self awareness.

For parenting you recommend: "I'm going to suggest he finds a communtiy run parenting class instead."  How stupid can you get.  I realise he had a poor role model by observing your life, but parenting by numbers?

For having sex with someone you don't love: "I personally believe that abortion is the last resort but i don't give it a moral judgement of whether its 'killing'....'  Duh, so I put the cat in the blender and it's not 'killing' because it's not conscious.  But then you wouldn't recognize a moral dilemma.

"muslim countries (including Iran) all have a very high rate of prostitution and drug abuse" anyone sexually repressed does this, anyone, but you conclude enviously (because you see nothing wrong):  "I bet there is a fair amount of bumfucking as well. Hypocrites!"

Well, you are one messed up person. It's a shame you're supported by your community here.  You haven't walked away from fundamentalism, you live and breath fundamentalism.

Good for you!..........you seem to be enjoying making  critical judgements?

Queer thinking...

Care...why do you worry about me so?

Are you angry with someone and are taking it out on the internet...that's silly...its not and can never be a replacement for the real expression of your feelings.

Kendrick: who the hell are you to burst in here, calling people names and running them down?  If your only goal is to insult other posters, please leave.

I think its reasonable to debate and offer personal opinions, however kendrick is fast pushing the boundary of what is 'acceptable'.

I don't know who he/she is...and while I consider it fair game for him/her to disagree with my opinions I don't appreciate the character assassination that's happening.

Its a problem of the internet chatroom ...personal attacks .....result from I think, a poster (like me) who is prepared to share personal matterial about themselves and perhaps being vulnerable by adopting an 'at home' feel to posting. <shrugs>

themsthebreaks.

I enjoy feedback................and I'm interested enough to give it to others....that's the fun of forums......also the point of them I think.

It's just occurred to me......sarcasm - or taking the piss (australianism) doesn't come over very well on the internet ...maybe I'm finally being taken seriously... Shit!

Ying Yang, a stone thrown into a pool you can tell the depth by its ripples.

Until you can be still and find character, you'll all bob on the surface.

Thank's for the exposure.
