MY OWN line they were crossing on what I am and am not comfortable watching NOT what some person or church says I should watch or not!

Absobloodylutely!!! (golly gosh...but don't the 'faithful' love to be treated as children and told what to do and what they 'should' not do....)

*yawns*.....borely tediuous way to live hey? Checking out everything with some kind of 'authority'....its bullshit!

Oh..&.I love LIly...

'that's the way the cookie crumbles'....is becoming my new common saying......

In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.

I think this website is a great way to find out what the fundy thinking on modern culture is. Every time I get into a new band I look on the website to see what they think of it. Going now to take a peek at Snow Patrol, Lily Allen, the Automatic and the Feeling. Hey, what a minute those are all British acts so maybe they won't be up there for a while.

I get a big kick out of watching gory horror movies and erotic ooh-la-la movies nowadays... makes the ol' christian in me feel soo naughty. lol... I like any movie that breaks taboos. The naughty feeling I get when I imagine what my pastor would have thought of the show makes it even more rewarding. Better than guilt, that's for sure. Watched 'the Hills have eyes' last night - OMG! Nasty stuff... loved it!

Hi Mothy

I watched 'Hills have eyes" last night as well....! fancy that!.....we loved it too, even thou' it was througha crap.

Ahrhg!....the bit that didn't pull through for me....was the 'good' mutant girl's self sacrifice for the sake of the 'normal' baby....very lame good and evil juxaposition or ("bullshit" " bullshit "as the movie critic once said)....

I thought the atom bomb background and the ghost town pretty darn scary too.

Note the ending.......they couldn't possibily justify a sequel could they?.............

Oh and the family - I thought they all deserved to die.....stupid !- really stupid people -added to the tension

and thank god for the hero dog - naturally called 'beast'...

great fun.!

I haven't seen brokeback mountain, so can't comment on their review...

...BUT my movie of the year in 2006 was Borat.  To me humour transcends almost anything.  We should feel free to laugh at whatever we like, see it simply as harmless humour...and move on.

Borat exposed some areas of US society that need a light shone on them...bias against jews and general racism being the biggest points.  Borat did so in a non-preachy, entirely funny way, so big cred points for that.

I felt the review site was a little over the top in condemning the film.  He did set out to produce a film that COULD offend just about anyone - but those with a sense of humour would not be offended.

I give Borat the full 5 stars.
