--------------------------------------------------------------
In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.

Food fetish never did anything for me, but that photo of the artichoke with mayo - spice it up a bit. A touch of curry and some lemon juice in the mayo really compliments the artichoke - whatever you do with it.

Food fetishism.........hey if you've ever been inside a church and participated with the congregation in that ol'......wine/bread thang then you've had one of the oldest and most popular 'food fetish' in town.

Ain't it a cop out that most fundies will offer their people fake wine..........typical..................and in those wee little glasses too. Why don't they just pass around a bottle...........................they don't because it wouldn't be kosher ....nor part of the RITUAL.!

Taken from the SDAists list of beliefs!...

"Remember, the Lord's Supper. This meal includes three symbols:

  • Foot washing (which symbolizes our commitment to love others as Jesus loves us),
  • bread ("This bread is my flesh," Jesus said, "which I will give for the life of the world," John 6:51, NIV), and
  • wine or grape juice ("Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life." John 6:54, NIV)

Religous folks just love rituals - yep......that sure seems to 'spice' up their sorry sad lives.....??

HOLY COOKIES!.............none nicer!

(bless me father for I have sinned)....hehehe........pass around that 'holey wafer'....

(not enough time to 'you tube' right now)......give the old chook some dues hey!
