That is from a book. . .Which one? that sounds as bad as the deep fried turkeys that are so popular around these parts during thanksgiving. I ate that at my aunt & uncles house recently, and it was the best turkey I have ever eaten in my life. I like: Peanut butter & banana on toast Grilled Cheese cut up into little squares and mixed with Chef Boyardee Beefaroni

He does not show much tolerance for people who do things outside his bourgeois, conservative point of view, yet he wants us to except his eccentricities, which he seems to think are understated. This is the sort of attitude that is bred in the Bootheel of Missouri. Speaking of unusual deep fried foods, we Saint Louisans eat toasted (deep-fried) ravioli. Which is often ordered as an appetizer in restaurants here. yum yum. Legend has it that a drunk German , in an Italian restaurant, spilled some ravioli into hot oil , noticing his accident, he put it on the bar and people ordered some more. That's not white trash food, infact this regional specialty has been featured on The Food Network a few times, and Emeril did toasted ravioli an injustice when he did it on his "Tour of the Mississippi" show.
