Has anyone else seen the previews for the new movieWillard? It's the one where Crispin Glover, the dad in Back to the Future, is a man who controls legions of rats and sets them on whomever he is angry with. Is anyone else as freaked out about this as I am? You'd really think that there'd be some much better ideas for movies out there.

"Perhaps we should focus on the positive aspect of video games. For example, children can pick up real world experience in the event that the earth is taken over by monsters and the only thing that can save humanity is magical swords, rocks, and...playing cards."

I read the book years ago. It was great (to a 15 year old). Now I see it as a really disturbing story idea. Odd idea for a film, the book made the main character out to be mostly a victim, sad really as he kills a lot of people.

I know Raven,

I am sometimes amazed at the lack of creativity when it comes to some movies.  I am also amazed at the abundance of creativity that is out there.

One thought I have though is this.  I have been told by a freind who went to film school that some movies are senior projects by aspiring new directors that are graduating.  Their films are sometimes considered good enough to market in the theaters...at least this is what Ihave been told.  I am also told that many of these students prefer to go the route of the horror film.   I don't know if this is the case with Willard.

Another thing I see is that many films are what I like to call B films that aren't really that good but have at least one big star in them and help to fill the video shelves that need to be constantly restored with new titles.  I try to shy away from them and stick to the good films.  By so doing we can contribute to purgeing our market of bad films.   But who knows this may be good despite it being a remake.

It was a dumb movie back when I was in high school and I can't imagine the plot's gotten any better since. I don't really like remakes to start with and this is one I'll go out of my way to skip.

My dad and stepmom watched this movie (the original) and she is SO freaked out by it that if you go up to her and say "Williard!" in a granny voice she will shudder.

Cant wait to tell her they are redoing it
