Being truly "Irreverent", I rejected Catholicism many years ago (at age eight) and have lived a very pleasant, satisfying and fulfilling life without guilt or fear induced by religion; without obligation to worship or conform as directed by clerics; and without concern for the "fate" of my supposed "soul" after my carcass ceases to function. If my thoughts and words can be of any assistance to those who are in transition - or those who are recovering from religious "training" (indoctrination), I will do my best to provide information or insight that might help. Perhaps I am in a "give back" place in life - well past reproduction and acquisition phases. I have some understanding of what is involved in deprogramming from religious indoctrination because my wife escaped from a fundamentalist Mormon cult (the FLDS of Warren Jeffs) and I know what it took for her to eliminate the thought patterns instilled by indoctrination and to learn to function in the real world as a whole and strong person (a remarkable woman). We are very wealthy in terms other than money, possessions and power.

G'day...

Good for you mate... life without christianity is not that hard to achieve for where I sit.

--------------------------------------------------------------
In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.

I would like to wholeheartedly congratulate you and your wife for walking away from lives of tears and servitude. And your wife-wow-before her, I have only known of three women who have escaped from Warren Jeff's Old Testament nightmare. I'm just grateful that Jeffs is now in federal custody and just hope that in a few generations, his cult will dissipate into the wind. I would also like to commend you for being an example of a better kind of marriage than funides advocate-on not based on wifely "submission", but on love and mututal respect.

Welcome to the forum. I think you and your wife will like it here.

"I"m not a witch, but I wish I was. If I live I"d be a witch now after what they have done. I"ll burn their crops and kill their animals. I"ll stir up such storms. I"ll scatter their ships across the world. If I could meet with the devil right now, I would give him anything for power, for he is the only way to power for women in this world. I shouldn"t have been afraid of Ellen, I should have learnt. Oh, if I only had magic, I"d make them feel it."

Hey JezRising

That TV series "Big Love' also makes mention of Pervert Warren Jeff.. I posted a thread in 'suppport' awhile back about that, including a link to an Aimoo Polygamy Forum. Unfortunately that forum crashed and didn't 'rise up' like Waff has managed to. I had a few interesting convo's with a guy who had been raised inside the 'cult' - He said his father was one of the co founders? It didn't seem to faze him that he was child no. 47 or something outrageous number?

Oh yeah......I agree with Old Ghost ..A life without Christianity is not that hard to achieve & it sure is worth more than all the tea in China.

He also posted as "Irreverent" I think? at about the same time as the  " Nov 07' Aimoo Crash" - I hope he also pops back again.

BTW...there is some good news re; waff - its free and has been since Nov. How could they be cheeky and ask people to PAY since that time  - A lot of  good forums have vanished from Aimoo.
