RE:I was hoping Volt would start a NEW forum
(Date Posted:12/26/2007 20:59:10)
Nothing has been done lately, other than making some adjustments to the forum design to make it look somewhat like it used to. Still...it is not the same. I understand that this is the holiday season; Volt and the others could be traveling or busy with family things. But something needs to be done soon if we are going to continue as a viable web and forum presence.

Well, now it's back to the newer design. Who knows what it will look like the next time I log in? I may need a trail of bread crumbs to follow to make sure I'm in the right place.

It seems as if this Aimoo forum - walkaway - has been well and truelly abandonded by its owner....and the moderators. Oh well....shame really but that's how the cookie crumbles. Re: New designs...I think that probably happens on auto? dunno? ....* shugs* I get this kind of message.... The web site you are accessing has experienced an unexpected error. Please contact the website administrator.

which is a turn off....literally.

In exchange for obedience, Christianity promises salvation in an afterlife; but in order to elicit obedience through this promise, Christianity must convince people that they need salvation, that there is something to be saved from. Christianity has nothing to offer a happy person living in a natural, intelligible universe. If Christianity is to gain a motivational foothold, it must declare war on earthly pleasure and happiness, and this, historically, has been its precise course of action. In the eyes of Christianity, woman(man) is sinful and helpless in the face of God, and is potential fuel for the flames of hell. Just as Christianity must destroy reason before it can introduce faith, so it must destroy happiness before it can introduce salvation.

ps....needless to say that .it would be silly to donate any more money to aimoo at this point in time. Without an owner present....no one can access the board to trigger the donations......? That's how I see it ? Dunno...*shrugs* btw...I'm seeing a pale blue colour scheme now..with a touch of the old brown just down the side. Funny old thing? I am enjoying the holidays..and time right away from anything remotely 'christian'...Heheheehee

RE:I was hoping Volt would start a NEW forum
(Date Posted:01/13/2008 10:40:44)
Our other Aimoo forum has been stable for a while now. It needs a moderator to adjust some settings that went bunk during various upgrades. This just came in from Aimoo: Dearest Aimoo Member, This email reaches you for the purpose of letting you know what exactly happened since the upgrade of version 8.0.1 on November 12, 2007. As you know, Aimoo is facing the biggest challenge since the release of Aimoo version 8.0.1, unstable program and severer, so many glitches and problems and so on. All these problems worry Aimoo staff a lot. So far there are still so many glitches waiting to be addressed. We have done our utmost to revert Aimoo back to the glory as six years ago. But as a result, we just screw up everything. We have to admit that the upgrade is frustrating. Overall, we are really sorry that Aimoo owners and members have to go through all these problems before holidays with us. During the past one month, Aimoo technological team stays up late to address all the problems step by step in order to offer you a more stable environment. The special service group is taking all their hands to offer assistance to all members who are driven mad to adapt to the new and unstable environment. But we are sure that all these work are worthy, because we know that you stand with us all the time. To be honest, Aimoo have encountered a lot of big problems such as the error pages always bother you and the chat room didn't work for you any more some time before the release of version8.0.1. There were a large number of threads and posts stocked in our old WEB system on a few servers. Some of our veteran members may got to know that our Aimoo servers couldn't stand anymore, if we do not make some changes, they will also be "crazy" and then collapse completely. That' why we take a risk to upgrade. What we have done is intended to make you feel at home but not destroy everything as some members mentioned. The great"ambition" to upgrade distracts our attention from the demands of our members. In the process of data transfer, we do the stupid thing to just transfer your threads and replies to the new version, but not all your data including your customizations which you put all your hearts and soul into. Our data processing division is regret to what they have done. We sincerely apologize for the upgrade has caused to you, and please have faith in us that we will get everything done perfectly in the near future. Although you miss Aimoo version 7 a lot, it will not come back again. Because it cannot adapt to the new hardware environment. Please don't be sad, we will make the current version 8.0.1 perfect for you. And it will be your warm home. Let's together to make our home more comfortable. Your any comments or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Hope all is well with you, your family and friends. Best regards Aimoo

Thanks @ bunch Mothy for passing that on to 'walkaway'. It sounds like the guys at Aimoo are feeling bad for the huge fuck ups. I hope they can fix it all up....its sounds reasonable to me - that holding such a huge history of threads might cause overload problems. I don't think they are necessary anyway. Aimoo hasn't been firing on all cylinders for ages & ages. We need a moderator or someone with the access code who can adjust the internal controls - failing that I think I'll take up the offer from Aimoo in the other thread. I'd like to at least use up the credit we already have due to us. Seems to me it would be a shame for the folks here who still want to post to give up before the dreaded Pop Ups arrive (money runs out). On the upside thou.....for me its been good 'therapy' to stop thinking so much about all that religious/christian shit every day or whenever I posted here. Its tends to stir up past memories and forces the emotions to re play..and replay...and replay without the work of moving on and letting go. I do miss taking the piss and playing silly buggers/ ridiculing the bastards thou'...evangelical christians etc..are hugely funny people with hugely hilarous habits. Its a bit like watching someone in the next car at the traffic lights picking their nose - "we are watching you"...! I also miss the community here...ever thou at times it wasn't very 'supportive' but what can anyone expect from the internet? Perfection?.....nah...no such expectation.
p.s.....Dexter sounds like a hoot!! I'm madly trying to score a copy - can I download it?

I just downloaded the whole first season of Dexter. I'm also really loving Psych. And I always download the Daily Show and Colbert. :)
