Hi all,My online name istrek4fr and I've left fundamentalism after 32 years of being a "bible-believing", conservative, self-righteous, sinner-hating, Jesus-fearing fundie. Why have I left fundamentalism? Mainly because of what I read in the bible when I really read ALL of it and because of the attitudes that fundamentalists have. I simply cannot reconcile the "God of love" that the bible claims exists with the way he acted in the OT and the way the NT concludes (lake of fire and all that shit). The teachings of Jesus, if taken literally, are the most damning to his character. And the fundamentalists that I have known act just like him (don't agree with me? go to hell!).So what I am now? I have no idea. I may become a liberal, an agnostic, or an atheist. The dust hasn't settled yet. All I know for sure is that I don't want to be a fundie any longer.trek
