Hi all, this site is a "blessing", if I can allow myself to speak that way. I was brought up in christianity as I was young. I never dared or even thought of questioning my faith, somehow as a youngster I was TOO STUPID to realise that I should've question the faith. But there was another problem. My mother is a really mentally ill bitch. She thought she could enforce her beliefs on me, when I did not recite my prayers she went very angry and violent against me, literally punching me in the face. I was not taking religion very seriously as I was young, but my mother made me recite my prayer everytime I had to go to bed, this was stupid because it was just parroting back some phrases which I did not even grasp the meaning, so no wonder I did not took it seriously and made fun of it. So one time, I recited the prayer foolishly, saying provocating things and started laughing, my mother then sreamed out loud and punched me in the face. One night, the city emergency sirens went on, my mother was standing by the window, she thought angels were descending from the sky and that it was the "rapture". What a complete ass hole and insane piece of violent crap my mother is. This is not something to coerce a 6 years old on. I'll never forgive my parents for all the crap the did to me. I'm happy I dumped this religion, but I feel I must make them pay back.

I know how you feel, I didn't question my beliefs as a child, even in the face of contradictions. The thing is though, there is more than intelligence as an issue of why children don't question the faith. Fear of hell can easily override one's intelligence decision making processes. Also most kids have a tendency to believe what they are told, because they lack experience with the real world.

Your mom sounds scary. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. I am new here, but I feel being able to post here and get support from others has already helped. Mostly, because it helps me know that other people have had similiar experiences and survived. Good luck to you and welcome.

Punched in the face by your Mom?  I can understand that you would want some pay back, but be careful.  Don't let your anger turn to bitterness and eat away at you.  This is the perfect place to work through your anger and frustration.  Welcome to therapy, Dr. Nick; your couch is waiting...

I think it's Mr. Burns and Weyland Smithers who is going to heaven. All others are going to hell. Especially Dr. Nick for his sleazy and incompetent practices.

I can see now that this thread was started just to make fun of me. This is questions and fuckup doctor geraldo rivera's idea of a joke, to say what my mom was like. We both had "mentally ill" fucked up crazy mothers, is that right? A coincidence? Oh, my. What a coincidence that this was posted right after my comments to questions in the hell thread when I still though she/he/it was a real person and not just a sock puppet. Are you, like, 12 years old, person-who-keeps-coming-here-to-harass-people? Because your humor seems to be on that level. You need serious help. As for me, there are plenty of other places to hang out online. I'm outta here.

Well, Dr. Nick, Questions, Nedy, Foodcraver, or whoever you are...earlier in this thread I said "Welcome to therapy, your couch is ready".   I can see now  that you need more than just couch therapy; I suggest you seek out some competent mental help. You are one sick character.
