What better way to announce something to the world than anonymously on the internet?**SHAMELESSLY SELF-ABSORBED POST FOLLOWS** I have had enough. Nearly twenty years of being told I am not Scottish because I have English blood in me. That I am not Scottish because I speak with an English accent. That I have no business supporting Scotland as a team. That I have no right to wear tartan, or celebrate Burns night. All because one of my parents is English and I have a posh voice. Well fine then. I loved Scotland my whole life - for twenty-eight years I had a passion for the country that would not die, even when (Scottish) people spat at me and told me to "fuck off home". Even when so-called friends of mine suddenly rounded on me in the pub and accused me of "screwing us over at the battle of Bannockburn". Even when there were many times I didn't even speak, in case people heard my "English" voice. But no more!If someone abuses you over and over, they will eventually kill the love you have for them. I don'twantto be part of a clique that does not want me. I have been living in England now for 5 years and I have never been spat at, told to "fuck off" or made to feel apologetic for my heritage - Scottish or English -exceptwhen I have been talking to a Scot!The racism that runs deep in Scotland is a national disgrace. It is not just the uneducated, unwashed masses. Educated, successful people were the worst of my tormentors (although they tended not to spit) Scotland - it's your loss. From this day forth I am 100% English! And you know what I'm going to do? I'mstillgoing to celebrate Burn's night and read out the poems in my posh English accent. And I'll fucking wear tartan any day I want - it's just a fancy check pattern - and not that great!

I'm glad you gave the Scots the shove off. This reminds me of my mom who had an idea in her head of what I ought to be and when I didn't measure up she did everything she did all kinds of cruel things over and over again to try and make me conform. It never really worked though. All it did was make me hate her.

Wow.  I've heard that some want Scottish independence, and are very protective of their culture, but I didn't know the Scots would treat you that way.  I have this image of most Europeans being more civilized than we Americans.  I guess human nature and tribalism is the same where ever you go.

HAHAHA...that's exactly what I say about 'Christianity'..........its not that bloody GREAT!

Oh boy! can I relate to that......stings  to the bone....lucky I gave  up 'hating' her though..

Yep... racism.  Its quite funny to see how the so called minorities being just as 'racist' as the so called dominant cultures (whatever that is)...

Imo....The Poles are one of the most 'racist' peoples in Europe...like a drink  and believe in Gawd Almighty......

(Sound like the Scots..)

 Goes to show...that people everywhere.... have a lot more in common than they have 'differences'...stupid to let geography define you.
