President George W. Bush said a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage will ``strengthen families'' and prevent ``activist'' courts from allowing same-sex couples to marry.http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000087&sid=awkg2txMYWyw&refer=top_world_newsI fail to see how the married gay couple next door will weaken the heterosexual couple living by them. Logic, schmogic.

Obviously you haven't heard about the Gay Agenda. In order for two gay men to marry, three heterosexual couples need to divorce.

I, personally have noticed certain aftereffects from gay marriage. Now my fantasys are restricted to just Jennifer Garner, Angelina Jolie and Keanu Reeves at one time. The straight quotient has been reduced by 40%. Maybe Bush has been thinking funny thoughts while wearing chaps and ogling John Edwards holding hands with John Kerry.

I definitely think that many people who make a big stink about homosexuality are confused about their own sexuality and are just trying to repress those thoughts . . .

So, if this amendment passes, the wedding chapel business in Las Vegas will go under, and young Fundamentalist and devout Catholic couples not mature enough to marry,  will become inspired by this amendment and wait until they want to marry for more reasons than just sex.  Sounds logical to me.

About repressed homosexuality, I don't think Bush is repressing any feelings. He's just towing the party line. I predict that around the time of the Democrat Party Convention, Jerry Falwell will make the claim that America must make a choice, and that choice may yield consequences that could involve terrorist attacks. He has said it before, the man has no tact.

George W. Bush is pandering, plain and simple. He bends over backwards to kiss the collective ass of the religious right.

Please: no thoughts of W repressing gay thoughts. I don't want THAT to haunt my nightmares in addition to everything else.

I'm not saying I think Bush is a closet homosexual . . . . that seems like a stretch.  Just that those people who say, I don't know, visit an ex-fundamentalist website when they aren't ex-fundamentalists -- just to talk about homosexuality -- might have some issues, same with my college roommate who to this day has never had a boyfriend.  She emailed me recently about how she liked a boy, but I think it was just a cover.  We don't talk about anything else that's really personal, so I think she was just trying to say, "See!  I'm straight!  Really!  That's why I've never had a boyfriend and talk constantly about how evil homosexuality is!  Praise Jesus, I'm straight!"

The fact that I have gay friends who are in steady loving relationships doesn't weaken my marriage at all. Fact is, I'm encouraged by them because if they, with everything society has against them, can get along and love and support each other, there's hope for the Bear and I.

How about a homosexual men couple who want to have children, two men cannot have children. They would need a third person, a women to bear the child, now they could artificially inseminate the women, they could adopt a child, they could pay a hetero couple so they will have a baby for the gay men couple.

But, don't you find this a little disturbed, the child should have the right to have a mother and a father and to be raised by the ones who breeded him.

I don't know about you, but I find this insane.

I never believed in God, but issues like this threatens to make me lose faith in human kind.

Therefore, the family of the future might be One gay man, One Bisexual man and one women. So the Gay can have pleasure with the Bi and the Bi can have kids with the Woman.

Hi Papa, Hi papa2 and Hi Mamma 1. COMPLETELY SICK !!!

This leads to one question: Why having kids ? Why would someone have kids.

Two men could just enjoy the other's butt and don't bother with having kids. I think that if there was a purpose for baring child in the past, that purpose is now gone. In a greedy capitalist and self centered society, having kids is nonesense.

So I would allow men to marry and mutually enjoy their sewage works, but I would forbid them to have children.

Bronze,

Have you never met any gay parents? I doubt it. Because my experience shows me that lesbians and gay men make excellent parents. I think part of the reason for this is that there is no 'woops' factor for gay parenthood. 2 lesbians don't wake up in the morning and discover that one of them has magically become pregnant. For 2 same sex partners to have kids means they have to jump through a lot of hoops. Which means when they finally do have kids, they are WAY ready.

While I personally have no desire to have children, I fully support the reality that lots of other people do. And, just like heterosexual people, some gay people have a strong desire to raise children. What a surprise: gay people want the same things that straight people do.

I must take issue with your language. To wit:

"So I would allow men to marry and mutually enjoy their sewage works, but I would forbid them to have children."

"Hi Papa, Hi papa2 and Hi Mamma 1. COMPLETELY SICK !!!"

If you are going to spout crud like this you might as well be a Christian fundamentalist. I don't see anything in your post that looks even remotely like reason. I do see a lot that looks like judgement and fear.

Folks, can we disabuse ourselves of the notion that lesbians and gay people are 'them'? 'They' are 'us.'
